St. Pauli confirms Afeez Aremu Staying Put

Afeez Aremu described St. Pauli as his “second family” after he agreed a contract extension with the Germany Bundesliga 2 club.

Aremu agreed a new deal, after three seasons. He joined St. Pauli from Norwegian First Division club, Ik Start.

“Hamburg has become a second home for me and my family, which is why I’m happy to continue playing for St. Pauli in the years to come,” he told the club’s official website.

“I’d like to thank the club for their support and trust, which I aim to repay with good performances.”

Meanwhile St. Pauli’s director of sport , Andreas Bornemann is delighted the club was able to tie the midfielder to a new deal and avoid seeing him walk away as a free agent in July 2023.

Aremo has been a key figure in the team, playing regularly every season.

He’s made 48 league appearances for Fabian Hurzeler’s side, with twelve coming this season.
