Taifa stars of Tanzania‘s head coach Emmanuel Amunike says his side are not out of the race for round of 16 at the ongoing CAF African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Tanzania suffered a 2-0 defeat in the hands of the Terranga Lions of Senegal in their first African Cup of Nations match since 1980.
With Senegal and Algeria the favourite to finish first and second respectively in the Group C, but the two giants will slug it out withthemselves , before Tanzania and Kenya trade tackles at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Thursday, Amunike is optimistic his side will progress from the Group.
“Our objectives for coming here is to do well, and irrespective of what happened in the match, I think we still have opportunity to make up with the remaining games and move to the next stage. That’s our objective.
“As human beings, we will do our best, and God who knows where we will reach even before coming here will take care of the rest,” Amunike stated.
