Francisca Ordega has explained her reason for joining Atlético Madrid Femenino on loan from NWSL side Washington Spirit.
Ordega, 24, had a brief stint in the Primera División in 2017 and said it was to keep herself in shape and the purse heavy.
The Nigeria International, who also played in Australia told Oge Ogwo on Brila FM show Lunch Hour Sports Cruise, that after the 7-month regular season in America she couldn’t stay redundant for five months.
‘The NWSL runs for only 7 months and as a professional footballer I couldn’t stay idle for five months. It’s not really advisable.
‘ So, I went to Spain for footballing reasons and also to keep making the money,’ She explained.
