Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile in an interview with Brila.net has assured Nigerians of victory in the weekend’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Uyo.

The Turkey-based defender who has once again earned the trust and confidence of gaffer, Gernot Rohr. As he was again,  the only Nigerian left back listed among the 23-man Super Eagles squad to face Zambia in Uyo.

Elderson, 29, teamed up with his colleagues in preparation for the all-important match immediately after the week 7 matchday in the Turkish super lig last weekend and he has been part of all training sessions at the Uyo training camp.

Coach Gernot Rohr retained almost the same team that crushed the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, with Echiejile leading other defenders that kept a clean sheet in the match against Cameroon last month.

Nigeria welcome Zambia on Saturday, 7th October at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, with the minimum win to guarantee a sixth FIFA World Cup appearance in Russia next year summer ahead of the final qualifying match away to Algeria in November.
