2021 AFCON: Gernot Rohr Wary Of Sudan

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr says his team will be ready for ready to fight against every opponent in the African Cup of Nations ad not just Egypt.

Nigeria was drawn Group D of the African Cup of Nations alongside record winners Egypt, Sudan, and Guinea-Bissau.

Bookmakers have tipped Nigeria and Egypt to make it out of the Group, due to their superior squad and pedigree in the tournament.

Reacting to the draw, Rohr admitted that the Egyptians will be a difficult knot to crack, but he expects Sudan to also give the Eagles a difficult game.

He said: “We have a tough group. Egypt, everybody knows and everybody wanted to avoid. But they are with us, it is okay.

“Sudan also. They have a French coach, a friend of mine, who did a good job since he arrived there, coming out from a difficult group. Also, Guinea Bissau is not easy.

“We will be very, very well prepared. We need to be ready for this first match against Egypt in Garoua.” He told ESPN.

The Super Eagles will open their campaign against Egypt at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium, Garoua on January 11.
