Enugu Rangers have appointed Head Coach, Chukwuma Agbo as replacement for suspended Imama Amapakabo.

General Manager of the NPFL champions, Christian Chukwu told www.brila.net that the Management’s decision to ” suspend and put aside” their under fire Coach indefinitely was in response to the immediate need to salvage their CAF Confederation Cup campaign as well as top flight status.

The Flying Antelopes were held at home 2-2 by Zesco United in the first leg of their Confederation Cup play-off tie at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.

Rangers have not won in their last five matches and are on bottom of the NPFL.

The Speculation over a pending sack has been looming for Amapakabo, who guided the Enugu based club to their league title last season after a 32-year wait.

In the club’s first official statement on the development, Christian Chukwu said, ” He’s been suspended and put aside indefinitely, and Chukwuma Agbo will take charge.”
