Afeez Aremu stars in IK Start league opener in Norway

Former Flying Eagles hardworking midfielder Afeez Aremu played full duration as IK Start drew 2-2 with Stomgodset on Wednesday.

The Norwegian new 2020/2021 season finally kicks off on Tuesday after months of delay due to the coronavirus pandemic which has caused plenty of activities across Europe.


Although matches were played behind closed doors in order to curb the widespread of the deadly virus in Norway.


Aremu and his teammates will be disappointed with the outcome of the game as they were a few minutes away from securing the maximum points, but letting in a goal with seven minutes left.


Stomgodset went ahead on the stroke of half time with a goal from Lars-Jorge, but IK Start later drew level Mathias Bringaker in the 65th minutes.


Start took the lead for the first time in the game after Eman Markovic fire past the visitors goalkeeper in the 73rd minute, the lead however lasted for few minutes as Herman Stengel restored parity for Stomgodset.


Both sides failed to find the winner before the final whistle.
