Aiteo Cup: NFF names new FA Cup Sponsor, winner (Male) gets ₦25million Prize Money

The Nigeria Football Federation has announced Aiteo Group as the name sponsors of the FA Cup on a five year deal.

The indigenous petroleum Company, unveiled in April as partners of the NFF, was confirmed on Wednesday as the new name sponsor; Eight years after the last name sponsors of the competition.

The winners in the male and female categories will get massive boosts in prize money according to details of the deal.

Winners of the men and women 2016/17 edition will walk away with ₦25million and ₦10million respectively – Last year’s winners got ₦2million and ₦1m respectively.

Aiteo Group will assume all organizing costs from the round of 64, including solidarity payments to state FAs and participating clubs according to the deal.

Speaking at the event NFF President Amaju Pinnick said,”We want to celebrate and thank Aiteo”

Several other members of the NFF Executive board were in attendance including Women League Chairperson, Aisha Falode.

Falode was delighted with the development and commended the support of for women football.

She said, “I am very excited that the women (women’s FA Cup) have been taken care of”.
