Nigerian track and field stars Kanyinsola Ajayi and Godson Brume have stamped their tickets to the prestigious NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Ajayi sealed qualification by sprinting to a new Personal Best (PB) of 10.03 seconds (+1.4) in the men’s 100m event at the NCAA East Prelims on Friday.

Despite finishing 2nd behind Favour Ashe, Ajayi’s time of 10.03 seconds (+1.4) places him on the cusp of becoming the 3rd Nigerian man to break the 10-second barrier in 2024.

Meanwhile, Godson Brume also clocked a commendable time of 10.04 seconds (+0.7) in the men’s 100m quarterfinals at the NCAA East Regionals.

Although Brume narrowly missed the top spot by a mere 0.001 seconds, his impressive performance ensured his qualification for the NCAA Championships.

Both Ajayi and Brume will now join their compatriot Favour Ashe in the highly anticipated final, representing Nigeria on the international stage of collegiate athletics.
