Akpeyi will miss the games against Corsica & Togo – Agu

Akpeyi will not be available as Super Eagles set to take on Corsica and Togo national teams in a friendly game ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa on June 10.

Former Nigeria international – Alloy Agu, has stated that Nigeria’s goalkeeper – Akpeyi will not be part of the friendly games against Corsica Island and the hawks of Togo.

Agu who is the Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer has confirmed that it won’t be possible for Akpeyi to meet with the squad prior to the game due to his engagement with his club – Chippa United.

He said: “He was left out to focus at his club and now that the league will soon be over, he will be available again”

Agu said Akeyi’s team still have a game to play on 27th May, therefore, “He can only join the rest of the Super Eagles players in Abuja when they return home for the AFCON qualifier against South Africa”.

The two goalkeepers invited for the friendly games are Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Ifeanyi Ubah FC) and Dele Alampasu (FC Cesarense).
