Akpom leads Middlesbrough to their first win of the season

Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom was on target for Middlesbrough in their Championship game against Barnsley on Saturday.

 

 

Chuba Akpom who recently joined the club from Greek side PAOK Salonica has now bagged two goals in his two appearances for the Teeside outfit.

 

 

The 24-year-old Arsenal academy graduate opened his goal account for the club in their 1 – 1 draw Queens Park Rangers last week.

 

 

The game ended 2 – 0 in favor of Middlesbrough, with Jonathan Howson scoring the first goal in the first-half added time.

 

 

The Neil Warnock’s side wrapped up their first three of the campaign when Akpom scored the second three minutes into the second half.

 

 

Akpom who also attempted three shots in the game had 22 touches and six accurate passes was substituted in the 87th minute.
