Akpom’s sixth goal of the season hands Micheal Carrick first win as Boro boss

Forward Chuba Akpom was on target for Middlesbrough as they beat Hull City 1-3 on Tuesday.

Akpom enjoyed a very good outing at the MKM Stadium, where his side bounced back to winning ways after a heartbreaking defeat at the Preston North End.

The Forward scored the opening goal in the 30th minutes to make it back to back goals for the team.

Tommy Smith sent over a cross to the back post where Akpom headed in for his sixth of the season for the club.

Akpom had scored in what was Michael Carrick’s first match in charge as a manager at Preston North End on Saturday.

Cyrus Christie equalized for the hosts 30 minutes later, but own-goals from Tobias Figueiredo and then Christie settled things as the visitors climbed up to 18th.
