Alex Iwobi was on the losing side as Everton lost 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing day.
Iwobi was making his 115th appearance for the Toffees in a must win clash for Frank Lampard’s side at Goodison Park.
The Nigeria international arrived the Merseyside club in 2019 and featured in 114 games for Everton (98 in the league, 11 in the League Cup and five in the FA Cup).
Against Wolves, The 26-year-old was handed a starting belt, in the midfield along with Idrissa Gueye, Amadou Onana, Anthony Gordon and Dwight McNeil.

However, the visitors restored parity when Joao Moutinho expertly set up Daniel Podence to go into the break level.
The game was heading towards a draw until it took dramatic twist deep in stoppage time. Adama Traore’s cross was deflected into Rayan Ait-Nouri’s path for an untidy but priceless finish.
The victory moves Wolves on to 13 points in 17th place, a spot and one point behind Everton.
For Everton, it is their fourth straight defeat in all competitions and it heaps the pressure on Frank Lampard.
Iwobi has made 15 league appearances this season, with one goal and five assists to his name.
