Antonio Conte kept his cards close to his chest and chose to praise his players for Chelsea’s 2-1 win at Tottenham after being quizzed on his plans for the remainder of the transfer window.
The Blues secured their first Premier League points of the season at Wembley thanks to two goals from Marcos Alonso after Conte fielded a makeshift lineup which included a 3-5-1-1 formation as Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata made full league debuts.
Conte still intends to bring players to the club in the remaining 11 days of the transfer window, with as many as four arrivals possible – and he responded to questions on transfers following his side’s victory.

“The club is trying its best in the transfer market to improve our squad but I must be happy,” he told reporters.
“We only have to think on the pitch and not to give answers to people.
“This moment is not easy for us but I am very happy to have this group of players because they showed me great commitment, desire and will to improve after a great season.
“We only need to focus on the pitch, outside does not matter for us.”
