Awaziem makes case for Permanent Nantes deal

Chidozie Awaziem is hoping to set his roots and maybe permanently at a club – one like Nantes – as he keeps impressing, doing so again with a starring performance on Sunday in the 1-1 result against Marseille.

Awaziem, who joined the Ligue Un side on loan from Porto in the summer, is yet to settle in at a club and could fancy staying in France if his campaign continues on the upward trajectory.

On Sunday against the nine-time league champions, Awaziem put in a stellar performance as Claudio Ranieri’s men fought to keep any hope of reaching Europe next season alive.

The 21-year-old played all 90 minutes as a left-back – he had been deployed as a right-back and in the heart of the defence at different times in his 18 league appearances for the canaries this season.
