Taiwo Awoniyi expects a tough battle, when Nigeria face Algeria in an international friendly on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles will trade tackles with the Dessers Foxes in Oran, few days after playing 2-2 draw with the Algeria B side in Constantine.
Awoniyi featured in the game, but couldn’t get a goal, he spoke about his performance and of Tuesday’s meeting.
“It was a good game unfortunately we didn’t win but it’s a game that gets us going and understand each other,” the 25 year-old said.
“Every striker wants to score a goal because your job is to score goals and help your teammates.
“I think it will be a good game for both countries. Algeria is a country with a lot of quality players but for us it is a game which will make us know each other more and keep us focus for the next challenge.”
The Super Eagles haven’t recorded a win over the Desert Foxes, since beating 3-1 during 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
