Cameroon our toughest opponent so far, not South Africa – Ordega

Super Falcons midfielder, Francisca Ordega has revealed that the Cameroon clash has been the toughest the reigning African Champions has played so far and not South Africa.

The Thomas Dennerby side needed penalty shootout to overcomethe stubborn Cameroonians in Accra on Tuesday and set up a final clash with the Bayana Bayana of South Africa, a team who has already defeated them in the opening Group B match earlier this month.

However, Ordega said inspite of the Falcons defeat to the South Africans , the Lioness of Cameroon are the toughest opponents they have come up against.

“The game in Africa is really competitive now ,.It’s not just about us “.

The Cameroon game is the most difficult game we have played , although we lost to South Africa but that wasn’t a difficult game, it was as if we just lost which I don’t why . The Cameroonians are our toughest opponents so far.”

The Atletico Madrid of Spain forward added that hardwork and good fighting spirit helped the Falcons qualify for another final again.

“We never give up, we fight till the end, even when we are not having the best time of the game. We never it could get to penalty shootout, it was difficult and the Cameroonians played well as well.”

The Falcons are through to the 2019 Women’s world cup in France but the second part of the task is to defend their titles again the Bayana Bayana of South Africa on Saturday.
