Eagles turn down Match Bonuses in Morocco

Players of the Super Eagles are keeping their focus ahead of the semi-final match against Sudan in the African Nations Championship and have asked the NFF to halt payment of bonuses – for now!

Described as a total show of patriotism and dedication, Eagles media Officer Toyin Ibitoye disclosed on Brila FM’s Sport Machine that the team is fired up.

It is understood each player is due to get $2,000 as win bonus – and have been assured of full bonuses even for the draw against Rwanda.

Nigeria came from behind to defeat Angola 2-1 in the quarter-final on Sunday to reach only their second lat four spot in the championship.

Anthony Okpotu and Gabriel Okechukwu scored for the Eagles in minutes 90+2′ and 109′ to cancel out Vladimiro Vá’s 56th minute opener.
