Chelsea’s Drinkwater attacked by six men after he flirted with South African footballer’s girlfriend

Reports in England claim South Africa international Kgosi Ntlhe and a small group of sympathizers were responsible for beating up and hurting the ankle of Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater outside a nightclub last Sunday.

Drinkwater will be out for six weeks due to the injuries sustained in the attack that happened outside a nightclub after he allegedly flirted with the South African’s girlfriend -he even attempted to take her home.

Kgosi Ntlhe, who plays for Scurnthorpe United in the fourth tier of English football, has been capped once by Bafana Bafana. He played against Nigeria in the 2012 Cape Town International Challenge.

According to The Sun, England international (Drinkwater) was the victim of an assault at Manchester’s Chinawhite club in the early hours of last Sunday.

He clashed with Kgosi after trying to take the League Two defender’s girlfriend home.

It is claimed the pair were kicked out by security, before six men reportedly pounced on Drinkwater and beat him with a blunt object.

A source told The Sun: “At one point he was curled up in a ball on the ground, as they repeatedly jumped up and down on his ankle and shouting, ‘Break his legs’.

“They knew he was a Premier League star and it was his livelihood. There was blood everywhere, and it was all incredibly nasty.”

The incident allegedly occurred after Drinkwater was an unused substitute in Burnley’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool last Saturday.
