Striker Victor Osimhen explains his conversation with Gerrard Deulofeu during the Napoli-Udinese game on Saturday.
There was a nervy moment for Napoli towards the end of the game as Udinese appealed for a penalty after a ball struck Osimhen in the penalty area.
The two forwards had the argument until the referee consulted the video assistant referee and cleared Osimhen off any wrong doing.
“I was showing it hit me in the chest, so I was really sure. He was telling me check the VAR, I said go ahead, no problem, because I know it hit me in the chest.” Osimhen told the press.
The Nigeria international bagged his second consecutive brace to help beat Udinese 2-1 at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
It means he has scored each of Napoli’s last four Serie A goals, but a late yellow card for handball rules him out of the showdown with Atalanta through suspension.
Osimhen was delighted with the victory and praised the fans for cheering the team.
The atmosphere was really good, even though we weren’t really ourselves in the first half, but we showed a good reaction in the second half,” Osimhen told DAZN.
“Big thank you to the fans never stopped cheering us on and this win is really very important for us.” He concluded.
