Chukwueze vows to end La Liga goal drought against Celta Vigo

Super Eagles forward, Samuel Chukwueze is determined to end his almost two month goal drought in the Spanish LaLiga when his club, Villarreal host Celta Vigo at the El Madrigal on Saturday.

The 20-year old who scored in Nigeria’s 4-2 victory against Lesotho in a AFCON qualifier in Maseru on Sunday, will hope to replicate his international form for Villarreal this weekend.

Chukwueze has scored twice and provided two assists in 12 LaLiga games so far this term with the last goal coming on September 27 in  Villarreal’s 5-1 defeat of Real Betis.

The Nigeria international has however set his sights on putting in a good shift for Javier Calleja’s men after his outing with the national team.

“It was a perfect outing for me, massive wins in both games and to even get a goal made it more special but overall I am glad we began the AFCON qualifiers with a perfect record.”

“Now it’s time to switch attention back to club football. Hopefully, I can replicate the same form for Villarreal in the next game.”

Chukwueze has scored seven times in 38 La Liga appearances since he made his debut in the 1-1 draw with Levante on November 4, 2018.
