Taiwo Awoniyi was on the bench for the duration of Saturday’s Bundesliga clash between Mainz 05 and Paderborn at the Benteler Arena.

Awoniyi, who joined the German club on loan from Liverpool has only played 41 minutes of league football this season.

The 2-1 win for Mainz ends a two game losing streak, but compounds the woes of Paderborn, who remain rooted in the bottom of the table.

Paderborn had Jamilu Collins on for 90 minutes in his sixth appearance for the club. The club is without a win in the opening seven games of the league season.
