Dennerby Could Bring Gernot Rohr’s Magic to Women’s Football

The appointment of Thomas Dennerby could bring the same success as Gernot Rohr has to Nigerian football, according to former chairperson of the NWPFL, Dilichukwu Onyedinma.

Dennerby, who has also coached the Sweden Women’s national team, was appointed by the NFF in January and Dilichukwu is hopeful his experience will count, hugely, for the Falcons and Women’s football.

The Swede is currently with a mainly home-based team in Ivory Coast for the WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations.

He declared before the team departed that for Abidjan, that he would act as a “Technical Director” at the tournament rather than as Head Coach, as he gets to understand the dynamics of team.

Although Dennerby’s caution about the expectations from his team in the WAFU may seem uncommon, Dilichukwu told brila.net that the new Coach needs time to fully settle into his new role.
