Ejuke makes long awaited return in Hertha Berlin’s heavy home defeat

Nigerian international, Chidera Ejuke made his return from a lengthy injury lay off, appearing in Hertha Berlin’s 2-4 home defeat to Werder Bremen on Saturday.

Ejuke was sidelined for four months as a result of a knee ligament injury and only returned to full training this week.

 

The 25-year-old however was included in match day squad, and thrown into the thick of the action with just ten minutes left to play.

He replaced Jessic Ngankam, had just six touches of the ball and attempted a shot at goal.

Ejuke has not enjoyed a good spell in front of goal for the Capital club since his arrival from CSKA Moscow.

He has just three assists to show for his sixteen league appearances and as a result, the club is languishing at the bottom of table with just 22 points from 29 matches.
