Ex-Milan Manager Backs Chukwueze for Staring berth

Former AC Milan player Filippo Galli has advised Stefano Pioli to play Samuel Chukwueze from the start when they face Roma in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final second leg match against AS Roma on Thursday.

Chukwueze looked reborn at the club and has been impressive in the last couple of games.

With the Rossoneri trailing 1-0 from the first leg, they need to score at least two goals without conceding to advance to the semi finals.

Galli however feels one of the attacking solution for Milan is to include the winger from the start, alongside Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic for the crucial match against Roma.

“Chukwueze starting with Roma could be an idea but this doesn’t mean giving up either Leao or Pulisic and perhaps evaluating whether to move Loftus back to midfield: therefore Pulisic as an attacking midfielder,” Galli told the Pianetamilan.

“Then obviously Pioli is there every day and knows the dynamics, he will be able to make the right choices.”

Chukwueze unluckily had two goals ruled out for offside against Sassuolo over the weekend.

The 24-year-old has three goals and two assists across all competitions for Milan this season.
