The Super Falconets continue their impressive start at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, with a win over South Korea Republic on Sunday.
The Christopher Danjuma girls snatched the three points with a late goal from FC Robo’s midfielder Esther Onyenezide’ in Alajuela.
With the game heading to a goalless draw, Onyenezide took the matter into her own hands and unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box in the 82nd minute.
With the victory, the Falconets confirmed their place in the quarterfinals, with a game to spare.
It was also their third consecutive win against South Korea in the history of the U-20 women’s World Cup
The two-time finalists now have six maximum points from two games and they’ll wrap up the Group campaign against Canada on August 18.
