FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup: Nigeria dethroned in Men’s Event

Nigeria’s Men 3×3 team finished third in the Africa Cup following their 21-19 points win over DR Congo, while the Women’s team came up short in fourth position in their event.

The Men’s team were defending champions in Togo, but lost to eventual winners, Ivory Coast 14-10 in the semi-final on Sunday.

 

Meanwhile, the women’s 3×3 team also lost in the semi-final, and failed to pick their game in the third place game against hosts Togo, who won 19-17 points.

 

Individually though the Women’s team players Nkechi Akashili and Nkem Akaraiwe topped the points board with 36 and 30 points respectively from five games.

 

On the other hand, Abdul Yahaya led the Men’s standings with 33 points from five games.

 

The second edition of the FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup was hosted by Togo between the 9th and 11th of November.
