FIFA World Cup qualifiers: Zimbabwe drags Super Eagles to Amarhoro Stadium in Kigali

Amarhoro Stadium in Kigali will host the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Zimbabwe and Nigeria.

The game was taken to neighboring Kigali because Zimbabwe has no stadium approved by the Confederations of African Football (CAF).

The Baltemar Brito’s side will open their campaign against Rwanda and will remain in Kigali for the matchday two against the Super Eagles.

The game is scheduled to hold four days after Super Eagles host Crocodiles of Lesotho in Uyo on November 13.

The game will mark Zimbabwe’s return to international football after an 18-month FIFA ban.

Rwanda, South Africa, and Benin Republic are the other teams in the group, with Super Eagles are the favorites to qualify.

The Jose Peseiro’s side missed the last FIFA World Cup edition in Qatar.
