The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) have heard an appeal and rescinded the one-match ban handed Pescara and Ghana International, Sulley Muntari.

The appeal was lodged by the Italian Footballers’ Association challenging the decision to suspend the player following his booking for walking off the pitch after he was racially profiled.

Assocalciatori, an Italian Footballers’ union body tweeted its decision on Friday.

Muntari, 32, was booked by center Referee, Daniele Minelli for walking off the pitch.

The former AC Milan player protested the racist chants directed at him by a section of the home fans during a Serie A match last week.

Fédération Internationale des Associations de Footballeurs Professionnels tweeted the news earlier on Friday :

BREAKING: Sulley Muntari appeal, lodged by @assocalciatori, could be heard tonight. Watch this space for updates. We wish him well. 🤞🏿✊🏿 pic.twitter.com/lDAWWuY6UL

The appeal was heard on Friday and FIFPro later declared that the protest was successful and the ban has been overturned by the FIGC :

JUST IN: @MuntariOfficial won! His ban has been overturned tonight by @FIGC. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
