Super Eagles goalkeeper John Noble has described Finidi George as a great coach and believes he should be given more time at Enyimba.
Finidi George has been under heavy criticism from some sections of the media, following the struggle of the Enyimba on the domestic scene.
Finidi George had a dream start to life at the Aba Elephants, winning five consecutive matches, including three wins in three-game, six goals for, none against in the CAF Confederations Cup after two months in charge.
However a deep in form saw the eight-time Nigerian Champions slip down in the NPFL table and some fans have called for his dismissal.
In a chat with brila.net, Noble who has worked closely with the former Ajax Amsterdam and Real Betis man in the last seven months said Finidi George needs time to settle in the league and build a solid team.
“For me, he should be given more time. It’s not easy to come and change things overnight.”
“He’s someone that has been away from the league for a long time and as I said, at the beginning of the season, we were doing fantastic performances.”
“Everyone was praising Finidi George. Five matches unbeaten and everything was going well until we went out of the Confederation Cup.”
“He’s a good coach and he’s been there for all the players, even financially and he’s trying to do his best for us.”
“Sometime, he’ll come to the field and give us money to go out after training.”
“He’s a fantastic coach and I think, he should be given more time and things will get better .” He told brila.net.
