Gara-Gombe warns Amunike to stay clear of Super eagles job

Former Gombe FA chairman, Shuaibu Gara-Gombe has warned former super eagles and former Tanzania national team coach, Emmanuel Amuneke not to come near Eagles as Super Eagles assistant coach.

Gara-Gombe told brila.net’s Mo Saliu that, Amuneke who has handled several teams both at national team and club levels outside the nation’s shores would be messed up if he takes any Super Eagles backroom staff job.

“I hear Amuneke’s name has been mentioned as one of those the NFF want to go for after the meeting with Sunday Dare. I want to warn Amuneke not to have anything to do with the Eagles…they will mess him up.

They will owe him salaries and at the end of the day he would regret it. They want him to come and work, let them pay him upfront because if they can’t get the federal government to settle the money being owed Eagles since after the Nations Cup in Egypt, where will he get the money to pay Amuneke. Amuneke is bigger than being one of Rohr’s assistants after coaching in places like Tanzania, Egypt and working at the highest level with FIFA.”

Gara-Gombe stressed that Amuneke would be better of if he continues to build his coaching career outside and should only return home to serve his fatherland when the present dirty politics being played in Nigerian football stops.
