Genk Coach Riddersholm hints Onuachu next destination

Genk assistant Coach Glen Riddersholm has admitted the Club could lose Paul Onuachu in the summer and believes the Forward is ready for his next big challenge.

Riddersholm in an interview with bold.dk said Onuachu has given his best to KRC Genk and can only wish him well should the Forward decide to move this summer.

Recall Onuachu pushed for a move from the Jupiler League side at the end of last season following his record breaking campaign.

However, talks between Genk and suitors failed to yield the desired results for the player and club, hence the Nigerian ended up signing a new deal with Genk.

With the next transfer window approaching, Onuachu’s future at the club is back in the news, with report linking him with a move to Serie A side SS Lazio and interests from Spain and England.

“He (Onuachu) won the Golden Boot, and it is very apt for what he has achieved. He has developed since I worked with him in FC Midtjylland.”

“He’s a much more accomplished footballer and he’s ready to be shot now, and I really hope he succeeds,” Riddersholm said.

“There were various things that made him not smoke in the summer transfer window, including the uncertain financial situation due to Corona and then he is not completely cheap either.

“I really hope he succeeds in the upcoming transfer window, and until then I just have to say that he is hugely ambitious and he tries every day to help his club. He has a huge mentality.

“He has received a good education from Denmark and I am pleased that he is also a cultural carrier down here. It’s cool that he’s just proving himself, but he’s ready to move on, and he’s going to leave, too,” the Coach concluded.

Onuachu is KRC Genk’s leading scorer in all competitions this season with 20 goals in 33 appearances.
