Gernot Rohr lauds Super Eagles performance against CAR

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr said he is relieved after his side produced a better and improved performance against the Central African Republic on Sunday.

Rohr and his boys were stunned by the Wild Beasts in Lagos last Thursday, but they managed to avenge the defeat by beating Raoul Savouy’s men 0-2 away on Sunday.

Reacting to the result, Rohr explained why he adopted a new system for the game and Ahmed Musa played from the start.

“We changed the system, with three at the back, and I think this helped us, and with the leadership of Musa, to win this game.

“It was a good reaction from my team. We lost the other day, the last minute, very unlucky, so everybody wanted to take revenge. They did it very well.”

The Super Eagles stretched their lead on the table to nine points, they are followed by Cape Verde who defeated Liberia on Sunday.
