Rivers United Centre forward Samuel Afful says he’s delighted to return from injury and already looking forward to the second stanza of the season.
The Ghanaian forward who suffered a muscle injury weeks ago is back in full training with the rest of the squad ahead of the restart.
Former Talaaba and Azam FC disclosed,” I am very excited to return back to the team after my injury which kept me away for some time now.
“Though it has not been easy because of the pains involved I am fine now and am back to join the main training.
“I did my personal training yesterday just to ascertain my confidence and I can happily say am ready for the second round of the league.
On his expectations for the second stanza of the season which will kick off May 9th, Afful said he expects Rivers United to challenge for the title with the kind players in the squad.
“I will say Rivers United has quality players including myself, we look forward to giving our best, as well pick CAF ticket which I am sure we will by the end of the season,” Samuel Afful assured.
Samuel Afful will battle Fortune Omoniwari, Godwin Aguda, new signing Sunday Adetunji, and other forwards for a place in the starting lineup.
