Goal Shy Iwobi fires blank against West Ham, but Everton win Easy

Alex Iwobi missed the chance to grab his second premier league goal of the season, but the Nigeria winger will celebrate Everton’s return to winning ways following a 2-0 victory over West Ham United at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Iwobi played 87 minutes for the Toffees and had a fairly decent game, which could have been capped with a goal.

Played through on goal, the 23 year-old opted for power rather than precision and technique as he struck the ball against the goalkeeper.

Everton will get there insurance goal afterward though, and it came through substitute Gyfil Sigurdsson, who replaced Iwobi.

The Iceland international doubled for the home side in the second minute of additional time – 75 minutes after Bernard beat Jimenez Roberto in goal for the Hammers.

So far this season, the Nigeria international has made seven league appearances since joining from Arsenal in the summer.
