ITTF Ranking: Aruna Quadri becomes world Number 25

Nigeria table tennis star Aruna Quadri has moved up one place in the latest February ITTF ranking released on Thursday.

 

Quadri only won a game in Hungary before he crashes out of the tournament but he picked up some points to move a step up from 26 to 25 in the world ranking and keep his place as Africa’s highest-ranked player in the world.

 

Second-placed in Africa remains Egypt’s Omar Assar who moved three steps up to move to 44 from 47 in the new world ranking.

 

Nigeria’s rising star Olajide Omotayo also benefited from participating in the Hungarian Open as he moved up five places from 146 to 141.

 

Chinese stars Fan Zhendong and Xu Xin occupy the top two positions in the world, while Japanese Tomokazu Harimoto dropped to number four for Lin Gaoyuan who won the Hungarian Open, Germany’s Timo Boll completes top five in the world ranking.
