The Super Sand Eagles’ preparation for the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup has been shoddy, but the team will make no excuses according to veteran Isiaka Olawale.

On 27 April, the Sand Eagles play their opening game against Italy at the Nassau Stadium in Bahamas, but the Audu Adamu tutored side aren’t expected to go far at the competition.

In a chat with www.brila.net , Olawale said the team was putting in the right amount of effort during the practice sessions, to cover the period lost.

He assures the players are aware of the enormous task ahead in the world cup and revealed some players have also taken up personal regiments.

‘ We are in camp already, the team has been training hard. Despite our late resumption, we’ve been training well.’

Nigeria are in group B along with Italy, Iran and 2007 runner-up Mexico.
