Gift Orban has asserted himself as the most prolific forward in the current UEFA Europa Conference League season.
Despite not playing at his superb level, the 21-year-old is leading the scorers’ chart, netting an impressive five goals in just four games for KAA Gent.
Orban registered his fifth goal of the campaign in Gent’s recent 4-1 triumph over Zorya Lugansk at the Ghelamco Arena on Thursday night.
The young striker, Five minutes before the hour mark, skillfully controlled a cross from right-back Noah Fadiga, placing the ball beyond the goalkeeper’s reach.
This exceptional goal earned Orban a nomination for the prestigious Conference League Goal of the Week.
The forward faces stiff competition for the accolade, contending with notable performances such as Aleksandar Pešić’s stunning strike for Ferencváros in a 2-1 victory over FK Čukaričk, Club Brugge midfielder Casper Nielsen’s contribution, and Aberdeen defender Angus MacDonald’s defensive prowess.
While excelling in European competitions, Orban now aims to carry this stellar form into the domestic league, where he has faced challenges in finding his form.
