U20 World Cup: Bosso Aiming High in Argentina

Nigeria U20 head Coach, Ladan Bosso described his team’s performance in the friendly, on Tuesday, against Colombia U20 as satisfying.

The record African Champions played a 3-3 draw with the South Americans in a pre-FIFA U20 World Cup friendly.

Speaking after the friendly game, Bosso says his team is ready for the tournament.

“I am happy with the result. This will bolster the team’s mentally and psychologically for the World Cup
starting in a few days.

“The match has provided us with a stiff test and has also strengthened us for the big task ahead.”

“We are focused on the big challenge ahead, which is to put up a creditable performance that will match the pedigree of our country at this championship.

The Flying Eagles are in a very tight Group. They will confront Brazil, Italy and Dominican Republic in Group D.

Our ultimate target is to have a good campaign and with this result, we will be very ready for our first match against the Dominican Republic on Sunday,” Bosso said.

The team will start their campaign against Dominican Republic on Saturday May 21, before facing Italy, three days later in their second Group D game also in Mendoza.

The Flying Eagles conclude their group stage campaign against five-time winners, Brazil, in La Plata on Saturday, May 27.
