Libyan side Darnes Derna SC are closing on home based Super Eagles striker Sikiru Alimi.
The club reportedly held talks with the striker over a deal, but it is far from being completed.
The striker is free to sign for any team of his choice, after leaving Nigeria professional Football League side Remo Stars at the end of last season.
The former Sunshine Stars and Warri Wolves striker also has offers from other clubs and it is understood that the player is keeping his options open.
Alimi had a brief spell in Morocco and Tunisia before returning to Nigeria for the second part of last season.
