Lookman’s goal not enough to earn Atalanta a win against Udinese

Ademola Lookman was on target for Atalanta against Udinese in Sunday’s Serie A game.

Lookman was handed another start by coach Gian Piero Gasperini following his good run of form for the team.

The Nigerian international and his mates settled quickly into the game and should have gone ahead inside opening ten minutes, but Luis Muriel failed to beat the goalkeeper from the back post after Ademola Lookman located him with cross from the right.

Atalanta later took the lead when Teun Koopmeiners floated a very long ball over the top from his own penalty area. Luis Muriel controlled and cut inside from the left, found Mario Pasalic who then layed it down for Lookman to tap in at the back post.

Atalanta got their second from the penalty spot, when Destiny Udogie mistimed his tackle on Muriel for a clear penalty, and the Colombian also converted low into the near bottom corner.

Udinese who also pareded another nigerian international Isaac Success hit back from a fine Greek from Gerard Deulofeu o make it 2-1.

Success, however, was inches away from getting the equalizer when Lazar Samardzic sent in fine cross to his path but the Nigerian failed to make proper contact with the ball.

Udinese finally found the levelled when Deulofeu found Roberto Pereyra at the by-line, who then set up Nehuen Perez to head in from close range.

Udinese almost won it at the death when Deulofeu’s free kick clipped top of  the crossbar and Tolgay Arslan’s angled drive flashed just wide after a Samardzic back-heel flick.
