Maduka Okoye made a third consecutive start in goal for Sparta Rotterdam in their 2-0 league win against RKC Waalwijk on Saturday evening.
The young goalkeeper had started in the two previous matches against Ado Den Haag ( Cup) and the last week’s defeat to SC Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie.
After the goalless first half, Lennart Thy gave Sparta Rotterdam the lead in the 59th minute of the match.
Abdou Harroui wrapped up the three points for the visitors with the second in added time.
It was the first win of the campaign for Sparta Rotterdam after eight rounds of matches.
The result took Sparta to 13th on six points in the 18-team Dutch Eredivisie ahead o their next match.
Meanwhile, Okoye is expected to be in goal when the Super Eagles take on the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone.
