The English Premier League title chase had weeks ago, become a two-horse race between Liverpool who won the last title in 1990 and title holders, Manchester City.
The Anfield Warlords have played 34 matches and are leading with 85 points, two ahead of Manchester City who trails with 83 points from 33 matches. City has a match on hand though.

On paper, Liverpool’s win against Chelsea this evening is the last of their tough fixtures of the season, while the home game against Tottenham and an away tie at Manchester United are on paper, not easy ones for the Citizens.
Manchester City must win all their next five games if they must retain the title. Four wins and one draw might deny the Pep Guardiola’s side the dream of back-to-back EPL victories if Liverpool win all their remaining four fixtures.
Four wins in the next four fixtures will leave Liverpool with 97 points from 38 matches, while four victories and a draw shall leave City ending the season with 96 points.
Football realities and possibilities always come with their dynamics and intrigues. Liverpool might still drop points where it is least expected, just as City too could face challenges somewhere other than at home to Spurs or at Old Trafford.
But for me, I see just a point or goal difference deciding the destination of the trophy this season. Will it stay in Great Manchester? Is it on its way to Merseyside almost thirty years since it left there?
