Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation Technical study group Dr Alex Mana has berated Africa’s handling of competitions following the last-minute cancellation of the CAF Africa U17 cup of nations in Morocco with just four days to the commencement of the tournament.
Mana speaking in a chat with brila.net said while Morocco may have a reason to tender for the cancellation, the feasibility study on whether or not the competition can be staged or shifted should have been done before now and not to have a competition canceled just a few days to kick-off.
“I think we actually have a problem in Africa, I think the problem is lack of good planning and the problem too will be this issue of Covid-19 and of course they should have known that this thing will be a setback. I think what would have happened is that the competition should have been moved by now. Psychologically this is a lot of setbacks.”
