Michael Kayode set for bumper pay rise at Fiorentina

Serie A side, Fiorentina is looking to secure a new contract with the promising young full-back Michael Kayode.

Kayode’s performances in the 2023-24 season have clearly caught the attention of bigger clubs, but Fiorentina seems determined to keep the defender.

The 19-year-old is said to be under the radar of Premier League giants Arsenal, with Manchester United and Chelsea credited with interest as well.

Fiorentina is set to offer him a new five-year deal that will see his take home rise €30,000 to around €1million per year.

Kayode broke into the first team following the season-ending injury to regular first-teamer Dodo.

The youngster has made five appearances in Serie A, and another two in the UEFA Europa Conference League, providing one assist across both competitions.

He performed significantly well against Napoli’s highly rated winger, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, helping the Viola to a 3-1 win in Naples.

Michael Kayode was born in Italy, and he’s eligible to represent Nigeria at senior international level.
