Ndidi spoils Frank Lampard’s homecoming at Stamford Bridge

Wilfred Ndidi was the villain and hero for Leicester City when they visited Stamford Bridge on Sunday in a premier league match against Chelsea.

Making his Managerial debut in front of the home crowd, frank Lampard wanted three points, especially following the back to back defeats to Man United and Liverpool.

And so, the Blues started off the blocks in electrifying style, bossing and pressing hard against the visitors.

All that pressure will pay off early for Chelsea as Mason Mount dispossessed Ndidi to fire the home side into the lead (7′).

That only lite the fire in the Nigerian midfielder’s eyes and he fought hard to rectify the error, but he would have to wait.

Sixty-seven minutes on the clock Leicester City were awarded a corner-kick as they had started to turn the screw on Chelsea.

Ndidi towered above every Chelsea defender to connect a James Maddison cross into the back of the net with a powerful header.

The scoreline remained 1-1 for over 90 minutes, although either side could have gotten another – more for Leicester though.

A sweet-bitter night for Ndidi, who incidentally is the first Nigerian to score a goal this season in the premier league – Kelechi Iheanacho was on the bench.
