Nemanja Matic promised to buy Slaven Bilic dinner if West Ham handed Chelsea a massive boost in the title race by beating Tottenham.
Spurs have been in formidable form of late but saw their hopes of catching Chelsea fade as they suffered a 1-0 defeat against the Hammers.
The result in east London means Chelsea need just six more points to guarantee they will lift the Premier League for the second time in three years.
And Blues midfielder Matic took matters into his own hands in an attempt to give his side an advantage in the title race, by offering to buy Bilic dinner if West Ham beat Spurs.
Bilic told Sport Klub that Matic said in a text message: ‘If you stop Tottenham, I’ll take you out to dinner.’
Manuel Lanzini scored the only goal in a tight affair at the London Stadium and Bilic added:
‘Matic is a wonderful guy, a great player.
‘I will accept that offer with pleasure.’
