NFF clears Falcons’ outstanding bonuses

The NFF has made good its promise to the Super Falcons by paying the players, coaches and backroom staff the jumbo bonuses promised them in Ghana ahead of the final match against South Africa.

The Thomas Dennerby- led girls beat the Banyana Banyana of South Africa 4-3 on penalties in Ghana to win their AWCON title for a record ninth time.
But hours before that final, the NFF Executive Board led by its President Amaju Pinnick had on behalf of the Federation motivated the players with a promise to double their bonuses should they beat South Africa in the final.
It is confirmed that the money promised to the players have now been paid and the team has been asked to be on standby following the announcement that President Muhammed Buhari will host them on Monday in Abuja.
Having been drawn against host nation France, Norway and Korea Rep in the group stages of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the NFF is already making arrangements to ensure the team gets proper preparation to help them achieve something remarkable next year.
