Technical director of the Nigeria Cricket Federation Enesi Amoto has stated that Nigeria’s junior Green and Yellow have a strong fighter’s chance ahead of the 2020 ICC world cup.
Amoto speaking in a chat with brila.net said the Nigerian team on paper perhaps look outrightly not in to compete considering the top quality teams drawn with Nigeria namely West Indies, England and Australia.
He however added that the team’s quality is one that gives them a strong chance to spring a surprise at the world cup.
“On paper you could say the teams in that group West Indies, England and Australia will breeze past the Nigerian team but watch out and see.
“What I believe so much in is that if these boys are going down, they won’t just go down with their hands on their heads, they will go down fighting.”
The International Cricket Council world cup will start on Friday 17th January to 9th February in South Africa.
