Nigeria’s male handball team named 6th best in Africa

International Handball Federation (IHF) has revealed their latest ranking and Nigeria’s male handball senior team are 46th in the world and sixth in Africa.

The junior team are 38th in the World and 4th in Africa, but the under-18 male and female teams were not ranked due to the lull in activities during the past year.

The U20 team made it for the Junior World Cup in Spain after athird placed finish at the Africa Junior Nations Cup in Marrakesh Morocco.

 

The top five male African teams are: Egypt (15th in the world), Tunisia (17th in the world), Algeria (21st in the world), Morocco (35th in the world) and Angola (42nd in the world).

 

For the women, Egypt remain number one in Africa and seventh in the world, while Tunisia and Algeria are second and third in Africa.

 

The north Africa neighbours also occupies17th and 25th in the world with 1,447 and 1,425 points respectively, while Angola is fifth in Africa and 43rd position in the World.
